Full American breakfast Cafe Goldoso in Sliema Malta. Yummy food and great portion sizes.
Full American breakfast.

After catching a few restless hours of sleep we woke up at 5:30 and headed through security. We grabbed food and then hopped on the short flight to Malta. After arriving, purchasing our bus ticket at heading to Sliema, the town of our Airbnb, we dropped off our luggage and headed for brunch, a full American breakfast, eggs, bacon, toast, sausage, and beans, and of course a fruit smoothie.

Great views of Valletta Malta from Sliema Malta.

After sitting by the water until we could check into our apartment, we showered and napped because we were super tired. After a short nap for me, Erich and I headed for a view of the capital and old city if Valletta, while the rest of our group kept napping. We picked up food to make dinner on the way home and had a family style dinner of chicken, pasta, and fresh tomato salad. We then planned the next day and headed to bed.

Blue Lagoon, filled with sunbathing, water sports, swimming, pineapple drinks, food, and great times.

We awoke at 6 am to catch a one-hour bus ride to Cirkewwa, the ferry port and most northern port on the main island. We purchased a $15 round trip ticket to Comino, the smallest of the three islands of Malta and home to the blue lagoon. A large channel protected by the smaller island with crystal clear water that was the prettiest and bluest water I have ever seen. We swam in the warm water, sunbathed in the shining sun, and drank ice cold drinks all while getting our tan on. The morning wasn’t very busy, and we enjoyed a section of the rocky shore to ourselves before many large boat cruises arrived and it became crowded.

In the middle of the afternoon, we packed up and took the ferry back where we caught the bus yet again to our place where we all showered and refreshed after a long day at Comino Island. We headed out to a seaside resultant with a view of the Mediterranean. Kristian and myself ordered local traditional rabbit that was absolutely delicious. Erich got local octopus stew which was definelty something that I would never order.

We headed back to our apartment and relaxed for a few hours while planning our next day and getting some sleep.

Traditional Malta fishing village in the south of Malta and Valletta.

The next morning we slept in after a long tiring day in the sun before. We then cooked ourselves some breakfast and headed to Valtetta, the capital of Malta. We walked around, got gelato and ice cream before catching a bus to Marsaxlokk, a small fishing village located on the south of the island. We stopped for lunch and enjoyed seeing the colorful old fishing boats moored in the harbor.

Blue Grotto, a small tiny 2 building village, with great views and huge seaside cliffs and caves.

After, we got another bus to the west coast of Malta to see the view of the Blue Grotto. The huge 30-meter high cliff arc way protruding out into the amazingly deep blue Mediterranean Sea was an amazing sight. We finally caught a bus back to our apartment to cook dinner and pack our bags before heading to sleep to head to Venice early the next morning. Hope you enjoy my Malta blog, and see you again on Monday in Venice!
