My trip to started early on Friday morning when I hopped on a bus to Munich Germany. I spent the 4 hour bus trip traveling the infamous German Autobahn as well as a 20 minute ferry trip across Lake Bodensee. After arriving in Munich and walking to the train station, I met one of my best friends who was studying this semester in Dublin, Ireland and was visiting Munich for the next 2 days.
We checked into our hostel, which turned out to be the nicest hostel I have stayed at yet, and then headed to lunch at a real German restaurant where we had local beer and bratwurst. We then walked around Munich, checked out some of the famous Munich churches, as well as the Munich Eisbach wave, a canal where surfers surf in downtown Munich. We ate dinner at a burger restaurant and then headed back to relax at the hostels own bar where many other travelers where hanging out in the evening.
The next morning we hopped on a train and headed to the Nymphenburg Palace, where we took a tour of the inside of the residents and walked outside in the palaces large garden filled with flowers, birds, and water features. We then headed to the BMW museum located on the outskirts of Munich, where we ate lunch, visited the museum and the BMW Welt, a conference and exhibition building where BMW shows off all of their new and current lineup of cars and the location where customers can pick up their brand new vehicles after purchasing them.
After, we headed to the home of the 1972 Olympic games which where held in Munich Germany. We where able to enter the Olympic stadium and see one of the 28 places where history was made. We then headed back home by train, ate dinner at an Irish pub and then headed to sleep because I had an early morning the following day to head to my next location.
