After arriving in Rome in the early afternoon we headed to our hostel to check in. We then unpacked our bags, and took a few minutes to relax before heading out to do some sightseeing.

We visited the Spanish steps, something I missed during my last visit to Rome due to construction, the pantheon, and of course, the Trevi Fountain. We made sure to throw in a few coins to ensure our return to Rome as it worked so well for me last time. We stopped for dinner at a delicious Italian restaurant where I got fettuccine alfredo with chicken. The fresh noodles where some of the best I have had.
We then made sure to stop at a gelato shop and tasted our way through Italy yet again. We then headed back to our hostel where we planned the next day and purchased our tickets to the Vatican City.

I woke up at 04:15 am and headed out by myself to get some night shots of the Colosseum without all the crowds. Two other photographers and myself had the entire Colosseum to ourselves. I then headed back to the hostel to pack my bags and meet up with the rest of my group for breakfast before heading to the Vatican for the three hour tour we booked.

The Vatican tour gave us the fast track entry to the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. This was the same tour I did my previous visit to the Vatican but was still a good one even though it was so hot. After, we headed back to our hostel to change back into shorts and grabbed a light lunch next to our hostel before heading back out.

After lunch, we headed to the Colosseum, Capitoline Hill, the chariot racing track. We made sure to get some more gelato and take in all the sites and buildings of this historic and old city everyone must visit in their life at least once. We grabbed a quick dinner before heading to our hostel to shower, pack, and then finally headed to the airport for the night.
